WOW! These dogs are HUGE! Actually found a thread here about them...
Kurdish Kangal
Try this site...
Puppies for Sale Ads, Dogs for Sale, Dog Breeders and Breed Information
kind of like a Craigslist for buying pure breed puppies from breeders. they didn't have the particular breed you're looking for but you can place an add there that you are looking for a specific breed. Hope this helps.
Is it true that these dogs are banned in the US?

I found my breeder through The American Kennel Club as well as googling Akita breeders in Missouri...You may want to try going through the Canadian Kennel Club.

Pick up a copy of "Dogs in Canada Annual." There are loads of breeders listed there.

Though there are some restrictions ie: city, county etc. There are no dog breeds banned in the US including this breed. It just comes down to where you live. But the US as a whole does not ban any breed.

MAke sure you have a REALLY tall fence. They love to roam for miles. And they do climb fences 6 foot and under. Make sure you really do your homework on this kind of dog before getting it. Do you have giant breed experience?

To my knowledge, this breed hasn't made it into Canada "yet"

You won't find any breeders of this breed in there.
MightyWings, is there any reason you are looking into this breed?
If you are looking into getting this breed, then as it was said, please do a ton of research. At times people see a breed that they like and get it on impulse without doing their research. It took my niece over a year of researching the Black Russion Terrier. And almost a year looking into breeders. In the end it's worth it.

I also would love to have a Kurdish Kangal, but we don't have the fencing and other things that it needs. Best if you had a huge farm he can roam on. We'll stick with our saint bernards. If you get a Kurdish Kangal, let us know how it goes. I would love to hear other people's personal experience.

The CKC and AKC do not recognize this breed which is why you are not going to find a breeder looking on their sites. In the US, the UKC recognizes the breed.
There are no breeders currently in Canada noted which is why I gave the link. If nothing else, they can look to them for help in possibly obtaining one here or may know of someone who has them in Canada but not currently listed.
