Default Dog obsession

Is it normal when you first get a new dog to be um a little obsessive about it?

It's been three years since I had a new dog so I don't know but I tell you what - three years down the line this dog just gets better and better every day. And I love him more than I ever thought possible and just looking him in the eye makes my day better and I LOVE HIM TO BITS! Take him with me whenever I can, take his photo any time he looks cute and have more photos of him on my phone than I have of my kids but obsessed??? Me???? No way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha ha! Okay I don't feel so bad! I always figured I would be like this if I could be given the chance but NEVER knew she could steal my heart so quickly!!! AND I don't remember being this excited about my child either! LOL! Um don't tell him that! He's 24 now so it could be that I have forgotten!

I have to admit that Manny is not my first dog or even my only dog. I was the same about my previous Jack Russell and I adore my two girls (Staffie cross and Patterdale/JR cross) but this little Jack Russell is the light of my life. I do love my kids and husband as well, honest!

ummm... yay!!! Definitely. My puppy is 10 months now, but if u didnt know any better you would think i was talking about a human baby! I talk about my Ella ALL the time, i spend more money on my dog then on myself! Im obsessed with collars and toys!! I love taking my Ella anywhere i can just bc i hate leaving her, even if its for an hour i actually miss her! I would do ANYTHING for my dog and i love her so much and my life is soooo much better now that she in it!

Well I have only had my puppy for 5 days but I would say that umm...yeah I am obsessed with him. I call home at least 3 times a day to check on him, making my poor babysitter think I have no confidence in her abilities...hahahah

I totally think that's ok to get a little obsessed with it. I mean you dont want to raise a dog that doesn't bond with you!! Right?! And you do want the dog to get used to you, and you want the dog to get used to you. Hey your excited!! Its alright. Just don't go TOO overboard!!

Our dog never lessen the excitement he brings to us. Most recently, to dad they didn't used to be as close as this before, now they are inseparable...

And just what is TOO far? I bought hypo-allergenic baby wipes to wipe her paws off when she goes outside. Is that too far? Or a car seat? Or a new treat? Where do you draw the line? Ha ha! Just kidding. I understand what you mean. We sure are enjoying her though!
