Chihuahua Mix Attacked By Coyote, Saved By Pit Bulls - Denver News Story - KMGH Denver

I'd say these pit bulls were 'unsung' heroes----but nothing even mentioned by the reporters on this order!

What a story. Coyotes are becoming a problem where I live as well. Someone did lose their little dog while walking it.

i had 2 coyotes walk up to me and my dog one evening. Scared the heck out of me!! I picked her up and started screaming and they ran away. Needless to say my hubby is the one that does her evening walks now... I live in a busy apartment complex though and they were still there.. there not real scared of ppl it seems.

Pit Bulls are good dogs. It's all about who raises them and how they raise them. Happy to see them getting good press for a change.

That's a very heroic, such amazing dog he is. Pitts are truly awesome dogs, we actually have one in the neighbor and she's very sweet and gentle with anyone.

Pit Bulls are good dogs, it's a certain percentage of their fans that are the bad ones. My uncle's weenie dog was attacked by a couple of them that climbed the fence to get to him, the little guy survived after getting some scary wounds. In contrast to that incident, I've personally known a pit bull that was found on the street by my cousins and was soon made a member of the family. She was such an intelligent dog who was so trusted by her family that their 6 month baby twin girls would swarm over her and she'd do nothing but lay patiently.

You never hear the good stories about Pit Bulls...thanks for sharing this article. I loved the part about "make sure your pet is kept in a inclosed area"...I'm no coyote expert but I'm pretty sure they could jump fences too! I hate to see any dog get attacked...hopefull they little guy will be okay

Bless the Bullys: Pit Bull Rescue & Education is a wonderful organization that promotes awareness about "bully breeds" they strongly believe in responsible dog owners and that ppl need to be informed about "bully breeds" so that they dont just assume that all these breeds are bad just bc of what they are.

WE have so many pit mixes at the humane society i volunteer at and ppl wont even look at them bc of what they are, they dont care about who they are.

October 23, 2010 is National Bully Breed awareness day!!
