My Mood: Tired
Lunareclipse is on a distinguished road
Default Hello people!

I know I said I'd be back last week, but I went out and weeded my flower beds and got poison ivy so bad that my eyes swelled shut. It was up my nose and in my mouth and covered every inch that wasn't covered by clothing. I had to go get a shot and take sterroids. But I are all better now. My horses are doing ok. A few weeks ago Luna had seizures every 10 minutes for 5 days. We thought we were going to have to put her down. She was so tired from the siezures that she didn't move for 3 days and i had to hand feed her and hold her head up so she drink. The vet wanted us to bring her in, but we couldn't lift her. The vet upped her meds and after two days on the upped medication, her seizures finally stopped. It took almost a week for her to get her full strength back. Now she's back to running us over out in the yard and trying to lay on top of me bed and trying to steal Buster's food. Sammie is getting so old and cranky that we can't take her to the dog park anymore. She keeps snapping at any strange dog. So just Luna and Buster go with us now. I hate leaving her at home, but we don't feel it's safe to take our cranky old saint to the dog park anymore. She's starting to get snippy with anyone who comes near me. Not sure if it's jealousy problems or old age. And Buster, well he's still dumber than a rock. He broke his tether outside and we had to go get a heavy chain to tie him out for his hour romp. He tore his crate up. Not intentionally, but he stood up and shook and the whole thing fell apart. We need a super heavy duty crate for him. He likes sleeping in his crate. We have it held together with zip ties right now while we try to hunt down a crate that don't fall apart when he lays down. (If you have ever seen a saint bernard lay down, it's more like collapsing on the floor and sounds like thunder and shakes the whole house.) When he lays down in his crate he pops the side out of it. We have to find something that can hold up to a gorilla. We got a great dane cage for Buster but even though the size is great, any crate that we've found hasn't held up to the strength and weight of our saint bernards. And sometimes all of our saints try to pile in the same crate at the same time. I need to see if we can't find a solid wood crate made of oak or something. I was seriously thinking about cutting the legs off the baby's crib and putting a top on it and door in the side. The baby has almost outgrown her crib. And it's big enough to for more than one saint since they all want to try to cram their large bodies in one space. Problem is, I would want the top to look as nice as the rest of it. I'll have to see what I can do.

I am also looking for a small saddle for Luna for a halloween costume. I was walking her one day and a little girl came over and asked of she could ride my pony. I have to dress her up like a pony for halloween. But I can't find a small toy saddle.

Luna! Luna! I just don't know what to say?! So I'll just say Welcome back (again, lol)! That poison ivy sounded pretty serious--glad you are okay and back to 'normal?!' Now if Lara's Mom would get back--We could have a little reunion.

Think you need a steel 'cell' for those saints with a tarp for a roof!

Hey! Look at this site! Just found some saddles for dog costumes!---> Cowboy pet costume - Shop sales, stores & prices at TheFind.com

We do have a chain link kennel outside for them when we are out doing yard work. It's under a tree, so we don't need a tarp. But they go nuts if we go inside just to get a glass of water. Luna is in it right now because she was getting a little hyper in the house. I still have some poison ivy up my nose and in my ears, but the swelling in my eyes have gone down and i can see now!
Where is Lara at? What's she gone for?

Glad you can see now--Must of been pretty scarey for you when everything started swelling up. Guess you are breathing okay now.

Lara/Tara said she has been busy and hasn't been in forum because of that. She popped in a couple times after and said she was so behind on the forum that she was overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. Those G20 riots were in Toronto--where she lives. There was looting and crap going on near her apartment and she said right in front of her building was blocked off--could hardly get out the front door. Said she would sit on her balcony and watch the 'action', plus kept an eye on the TV. Said it was very scarey. Then she lost a couple of friends and was helping plan a memorial for one. All in all --said she has been busy.

Did you check out the saddles yet?
