Our dogs are HOME!!!
Well it has been a VERY long 4 months of diagnosis, treatments, consulations and stays at SickKids in Toronto but our beautiful daughter of only 4 years is cancer free and we just picked up our Rupert today; we picked up Cassie on Thursday which happened to be my birthday so what a wonderful gift for my birthday.....my girls are all healthy and our dogs are home. Heck, we now even have rescued a kitten who was being abused in our opinion where she was.....I didn't appreciate their view of a CAT-a-pult, seriously, so we took her with us and these were friends of ours! EEP! Anyway, both dogs look strong and healthy too, I'm planning to go the our market to get some raw bones for them and give them a coming home treat tomorrow.
Anyway, that's my story and we are praying daily that we NEVER have to hear the word cancer in our home again!

Everything is great! Cassie and Echo the kitty get along really well cuz Cassie just gets along with everyone; what a GREAT girl she is....she flushed a rabid raccoon out from her foster family's front porch, the mom has daycare kids and she corraled them away from the raccoon by nipping their bottoms and went back and forth between the kids and the coon to keep it away from the kids while the mom called the neighbor who lives about 3 miles down the road on the next farm and it was about an hour before someone showed up with a gun to shoot it. Quite a heroic story! And our Rupert got HUGE over the summer but he and Echo don't get along so much; at least kitty won't come downstairs cuz she's afraid of him but she has the entire upstairs to be ok and Cassie visits with her too so it works out. I think kitty is MUCH happier here. And our daughter is doing very well; we are SO blessed to have her home healthy again. In time we hope the trauma will be forgotten and we can go on with our lives but having our furry friends at home sure helps!!!
