I am curious about something....in other forums we are talking about the tragedy in New Orleans and places around that. We see pictures of children who have lossed their parents etc...I wonder if there is an animal relief for lost and homeless pets? Like when 9-11 happened I met people who had adopted animals from the homes of the missing. It gives you the chills. I just wonder if there is anything going on as far as that goes?

Good thought, I saw clips on the news of the people being put on buses and in one shot there was a little dog trying to get on a bus but the nation guard man shooed it away so it looked ( to me at least ) as though animal's have to fend for themselves

I was talking to someone else about this and they were seeing on the news that people were taking their pets to some of the doctors and having the pets euthanized. What can they do? It's very sad and maybe that's the most humane thing they could offer.

I live in by Houston, and my Mom's vet along with others around the area went over to New O. and picked up strays that were walking the streets once they were alowed in. They were able to take a few boats and get is with the other rescuers. I don't know how many they got but I recieved a corrgie that was found.(don't worry, he is so over weight, he would not have starved.
