If you're a first time breeder and no experience and come here for advise. If you need to come here for answers then you have a lot more work to do before breeding...If you're doing it for money, forget about it there's none to be made and if you're doing it just to keep a puppy even though you have no idea what your doing then that's just plain selfishness!

If you're a reputable breeder we'll be more then happy to share our experience and advice....If you're not you can expect to hear what you don't want to!

Since a lot of us have and still are breeding and since we all have rescue dogs and they should be a priority...I have nothing against breeders as I know many great ones including Yogi and Barb who we purchased our Akita from..Always consider rescue first!!!

This is so important - anyone who owns an entire male or female should read this. It deserves a wider audience.

Very well said...I read something that said Spaying or neutering was inhumane...Well I kind of think watching your male dog suffering and going crazy because he can't get to the bitch is inhumane bit I think it's inhumane to bring more unwanted puppies in this world a making the females prone to Pyometra since they haven't been spayed...If you ask me it comes down to ignorance and greed!

I love that u posted this!! It seems to me like lately we have been getting a lot of ppl in this forum who think breeding is just some fun way to get some cute puppies it makes me so mad! I really dont understand how ppl can be so selfish. I mean maybe they dont understand how truely overpopulated we are with dogs (and cats too) its hard for me to grasp that since i see the consequenses everyday from ppl who think there breeders. Just last week we had 2 litters of puppies dropped off at our door step with the moms. Its so sad: do ppl honestly believe they can prevent there dog from breeding if they dont spay/neuter??

WEll i said my peace..

I am a firm believer in "fixing" your dog... I pick up dogs coming by the truck load from the South. Many parts of the country in particular there is little to no regard for their lives. The shelters are full and fosters are on over load. In doing transport, I have meet so many wonderful dogs that were on death row because there simply are not enough homes, over 4 million killed each year, probably more, "privately"... I once heard a woman tell a store clerk, her dog was having puppies, she wanted her kids to see the "miracle" of birth, I opened my big mouth and said show them a movie of puppies being born and then go to a shelter and see a mother dog and her puppies put to "sleep".
