Arrow Good Dog Movie On Tonight-About an Akita if I Remember right.

Actually any breed could be okay for this story! This is based on a true story that happened in the '30's. It is a very sad story. The name of the movie is Hachi (not a Japanese story)--Richard Geer stars in this movie.
It is on the Hallmark channel at 8pm my time--I am in the midwest--so you figure your time in here!

It is unbelievable that this dog did this and so sad.

I've seen that movie.. it is incredible but sooooo sad. I am glad that i watched it once but i dont ever want to see it again. I was watching it with one of my girl friends and we were literally balling!!

In the movie they use a shiba Inu but the TRUE Hachi was an Akita.

If u havent seen u really should watch it once, just dont forget the tissues.

In this movie, Hachiko as a pup is played by a Shiba Inu. The adult dog is played by a Japanese Akita, there are two types of Akitas. The true story is based on a Japanese Akita.

We loved the movie. It really shows the devotion of an Akita, and how attached they can become to their family. Would reccomend a box of tissues if your going to watch it.
They do use an Akita in the movie, the adult hatchi is a japanese akita, they just look a little differnet than what most westerners perceive as being an akita. YouTube - American And Japanese Akita's Two Types Of Akita's In a nut shell, there are two reccognised standards for the Akita, as there was a refusal between international kennel clubs to accept one standard. The Japanese akita, is slightly finer in build, does not accept black mask, and only comes in red, brindle or white. The American Akita, is a larger dog, and has a wide variety of coat colours all which are accepted for show, and a black mask is also permitted under the American Akita Standard.

Edited to add.............just wanted to add that the video attached may imply that there are two seperate breeds of Akita, this is NOT the case. Both the japanese akita and the american akita, genetically are one breed, but the physical appearance of the two vary. In short, there is One Breed, the Akita, which is measured under one of two differnent standards, Japanese or American.Ree, Lange and I all have Akitas that would be measured under the American standard.

Default Cried my eyes out, but I love this movie!

This movie was so touching. It is a real tear-jerker, but it clearly shows how much our dogs love us and reminds us that we should treasure them everyday. You will not forget this movie. I hope you enjoy it.
