Oh heck yes.....just drag a fresh T-Bone around the yard and watch what Buster does......Please though, don't go up the tree that Ryan wants down otherwise it may come down sooner than he wants and may not be in the direction he wants....

can i really drag a t-bone around out in the yard and see if he can find it? He doesn't use his brain much, but maybe he can use his nose. It does sound like a good idea. Do you start off with this kind of training with him watching me do it?

Don't let him see you do it....just tie a string to it and drag it behind you around the yard keeping track of the route you take. Then remove the steak and let him out. If you start at the point where he comes out of the house, he should get a whiff of it and just watch his reaction.

You think he can get the point without having seen me do it the first few times?

lol. I tried it with a hambone. Buster shot out the door, peed on a tree and came back. He didn't smell a thing.

Correct, he's about as bright as a burnt out bulb sometimes. I think he might have to see me doing it the first few times. Then I can hide the ham bone behind a tree that is out of his line of sight and see what he does then.

Well, we don't have a garden, except the rose garden. I'm not sure Buster would enjoy me hiding his toys in there. I was outside with the three stooges today and threw his tennis ball and ran off after it and came back with a stick. It's kinda like getting presents for a 1 year old. You spend money on nice toys and they want to play with the box and the wrapping paper. Then Buster ran off and came back with a log. He turned around when he got to me and rang my bell with it. I have a big goose egg on my head now. MAybe it would work if I drug a log around the yard. He would find that in no time flat. Shouldn't he be the one dragging the log around the yard. Maybe if I can find a harness I can afford, I'll hook him up to a log and see if that wears his hyper butt out. I did put a little peanut butter at the base of a tree to see if he could find it. He did and ripped the bark right off the tree. I had to wrestle it away from him. Oh! He also stole a whole cooked chicken off of the counter. I had to tackle him and pry it from jaws.
