He's the biggest
So Seigi's breeder has gotten new pics and weights from all the pups in Seigi's litter and he's the biggest by an average of 10lbs! We took him by to visit her a week ago as he's the only pup from the litter that stayed in the state and she was quite impressed with his bone structure,coat,weight and temperment..So I would have to say over all I made a darn good pick with him!

No I am not a Miniature Doberman, I was around 200 years before Karl Frederich Louis Doberman created the Dobie, and as for my friends the Manx cats, yes they are better at playing fetch than I am, I am a Miniature Pinscher. http://blackhawkkennels.webs.com/

LOL you're so right...luckily he's not just gaining weight but height as well...His dad is 27 in and he's already 25...The standard for the male Akita's is 26-28 and weight standard is 90-125 so Seigi should meet standard with no problem.
I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality pups my breeder produces..Not to mention most breeders myself included only give you limited registration on a spay/neuter contract and full registration to approved and experienced show homes which is the case with my breeder...However with me even though he was a spay/neuter contract she gave me full registration..It really doesn't make a difference as I would've been happy either way but it was nice that she felt comfortable in doing that with me.

same here, I have only sold 2 AKC unlimited registered pups. One is in Ft Saskatchewan Canada with a breeder up there who I know and another in the recent litter of Pinschers. The owner is from Texas and grew up on a cattle ranch and has whelped many of their farm critters including their cattle dogs. All others go with a spay and neuter agreement and papers are held until they provide proof of the spay or neuter.

I did the same as far as holding papers and so does my breeder...Seigi's litter was 7 and I was the only one who got unlimited even though he was a spay neuter contract..I also got his 3 generation certified pedigree fromthe AKC.

In the case of Podo's and Tayzer's pedigree. It goes back some 35 generations. Direct descendants of the Miniature Pinscher that took more titles than any other in history. I tried taping all of them together and it took up a wall going end to end. Little too much so I put them back in their files.
Even my Papillon sire comes from the #2 Papillon in the US. I have been fortunate to find good pedigreed dogs.

His pedigree goes pretty far back but I only ordered the 3 generation..All 3 generations are champions and this summer my breeder finished 3 of her Akita's and the oldest is just turning 3 yr.s old..Of course she has a few more to go but I have no doubt they'll all finish...I got very lucky finding her and even luckier living close by since she's the only breeder in the state that met my standards.

LOL...My best friend says Seigi has that dopey dummy look to him...I told he does a good job trying to pretend he is to...
Since Akita's are so stubborn and like to test your authority they have a tendency to just look at you when you ask the to sit or lay down,etc like they have absolutely no idea what you're talking about!

I know he is testing me. And he isn't getting away with it. I honestly believe this is the smartest dog I have ever owned. To get him to do something, I have to make it seem like it was his idea. It's kinda like being married. If I want Ryan to do something I have to make it seem like it was his idea.

That's good that you're showing him who's boss...Akita's by nature will test you usually twice a year with year one being the toughest...Seigi however started a little early but with him only being 8 months I can get him in check pretty quickly...
My hubby goes nuts over seigi's stubborness...I stopped breeding before we met so this is the first Akita his been around since 8 weeks old because kujo was just about a year old when we got him...I warned him that they're one of the most stubborn breeds there is of course he didn't believe me so now he sees for himself!
