So I got home about a half hour ago from another 3 day stint in in the hospital...Seigi's been on his own with daddy raising h***....Anyway I let hubby go in first and close the door like I wasn't with him,waited 2 seconds and went inside...he was so happy to see me he couldn't keep from jumping on me which he never does!!...So I went and sat on the couch with him for a sec where he tried to first give me a bath to get the smell of the hospital off of me including my ears which is always fun lol...He then procedded to try and chew off my hospital ID bracelets...Any who I went and changed my clothes and then sat on the couch and before I could even grab my lap top he promptly jumped on the couch and laid his head me my lap and then role his head around all over me and gave me yet another bath!...lol

When I went in the bathroom and closed the door he did what is now his usual routine of sitting outside the bathroom door crying since he's getting used that meaning I'm in there getting sick and when I came out his ssilly but ran about 5 circles around the dining room table!!!

Now tell me...How many if our family members act like that?...This is why I got out of nursing and back into dog training...IMO...There is no greater unconditional love or loyalty then that of a dog to his owner!!!

It's such a joy to come home to such love,affection and caring...Yes,I of course get it from hubby to and love him for it and even though I won't tell this to hubby it's just not the same as what you get from your dog!!!

3 days must have felt like forever to him. I leave for an hour or two and I get knocked down when I get back home. And, yes, our doggies do love us.

It's kind of weird because the first time I was ever put in the hospital when this all started he was about 10 or 11 weeks old and honestly up until I was in the last time he was just fine...He gave dad a hard time but he didn't drag out all my socks,or take all of my throw blankets off the couch and stash them in his crate lol and when I came home he was no more excited then he is when I come back from running errands...Theses last 2 times he's done what I mentioned with my socks and blankets and just goes nuts when I walk through the door...

I'm thinking that maybe he's undertanding simply by my physical condition when I leave that it's because I'm sick and then when I come home he realizes I'm ok?...I guess he's just finally decided I'm the one he has the stronger bond with...He gets excited when hubby has been gone all day but not like that...

Even though Akita's will love,repect and obey both of their owners they are still one person dogs and will be bonded to one more then the other so maybe I'm the chosen one which is fine by me...lol

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time physically but wow - what a boost to your spirits to be so loved! I haven't left Manny for more than one night in the past three years but when I do he sulks furiously for 24 hours then suddenly seems to accept that I'm not going again in a hurry and just wants to be cuddled.

As far as the girls are concerned if they are fed and played with who cares who does it!

He really did boost my spirirt for sure but so did hubby getting the ER Dr suspended...That was worth the stay..lol

Suspended? Sounds serious but I guess that is a lighter punishment than Seigi would have inflicted on him for hurting his beloved owner!

Yeah it was and you're right about Seigi...His guarding and protective instincts are kicking in...If hubby and I are horsing around Seigi will first take his paw and try and pull hubby's arm away from me and if that deosn't work he'll put his whole mouth on hubby's arm and gently try and pull him away and his last resort is to get up on the couch and force his way in between the 2 of us and then if hubby goes to reach for me Seigi stops him with his paw...In fact he's been right next to me on the couch almost all day except when he ate and went out to potty...I guess he figures if he does that I won't leave to anywhere...lol
