Having a rough time

We got a new recliner. I had some issues closing the footstool on it and shut my foot in it and broke my foot pretty bad. I had to have surgeries to turn one of the bones back around so it was facing the right direction. 2 days after that Luna starts having seizures. She had seizures for 5 days. On one of those days she fell down the basement stairs while I was down there grabbing some towels out of the dryer. So I had to drag her back up the stairs with a broken foot. It's really hard to do. On the last day of her seizures, she was laying at my feet and goes into a seizure and latches onto my foot and breaks the cast and I had to go get another surgery to put my bone back in place. The stupid doctor made me fill out a dog bite incedent form. What an idiot. She didn't bite me out of viciousness or anything. She was having a seizure. She had no clue what she was doing. I have to go and take Luna's shot records to the doctor's office so they can be attached to bite form. They said it was just to make sure she doesn't have rabies. I swear those people are retarded. I wouldn't have gone to the doctor if I didn't have to have a new cast put on. They better not label Luna as a vicious dog or I will go and raise some hell.

Luna, Luna---What can I say!! I think your doctor and/or the hospital should give YOU a very expensive Christmas gift. I think you are the most accident prone person I know! Seriously, I hope this coming New Year is going to change all that and give you a break. OMG--sorry there really was no pun intended---just realized I said break. But if anybody deserves a good break--You do!! And you know I mean that in a good way! I don't know how you handle it all--I couldn't! Hoping for the very best for you!

I can't believe they would consider that being a bite incident especially because they obviously have a medical background and should know a thing or two about seizures. :shock: I hope your foot heals quickly & Luna has less episodes!!! You really have your hands full right now.

Wow, you are having a rough time of things.

Hopefully, the doctor will realize that Luna didn't bite you on purpose.

WOW!!!...Luna I'm so sorry you're going through all of that especially around the holidays!...Is Luna ok? Do they know what's causing the seizures?...I hope you have a great holiday despite what's going on....HUGS!!

Luna has epilepsy. It is genetic in saint bernards. She will never be completely free of seizures, but we can have some controll over how frequently she has them with medication. She can go several months without having seizures. It's rough when she has them though. She bites her lips and her tongue and they bleed all over and it looks like we've been running a dog fighing ring in our house and Luna looks like she got attacked by another dog. It looks really horrible. I take Luna out to go potty and she staggers all over. I'm sure the neighbors think we abuse her.
