Default Messes in the house...

My Bailey will be 13 years old on Feb. 25th. Lately, she's been having "accidents" every night. I take her out as late as 11:00 p.m. and it doesn't help. When I wake up in the morning, she has defecated over a wide range of the floor. Is there something else I could be doing to prevent this or, is it just another synptom of old age creeping up on her?

I have a similar thing with my old girl but fortunately she only goes in one place. It makes no difference how/when I feed her or when we go to bed - up until the last person goes to bed they are free to come and go into the garden as they please. It doesn't happen every night but it never happened at all until the last 6 months or so. To be honest it doesn't bother me too much. I just clean it up and that's that. Toffee is about the same age as Bailey - we don't know exactly how old she is. But if that is the only sign of her old age I can cope!

Thanks. I've put down newspaper over a wide area and she seems to have caught on that this is where she's supposed to go at night. The vet says she's healthy so, I'm just taking it as a sign that she's getting older and can't "hold it" like she used to.

I have a lab dog before I don't know how old is she but she's been our dog since I was a child up to my teenage years. I guess she's old because there are some changes in her appearance, her color changes something like grayish and shes seems not that playful and easily get tired when I take her out for a walk.
