Pics Of Sami--new rescue dog (and Max)
I finally got some pics of Sami--my new rescue dog developed. http://www.i-love-dogs.com/forums/me...mouth-sami.jpg That is just one pic of about 10--Go to my album on my profile page to see the rest.
She is doing great after her cancer operation--hoping they got it all. Not a lot of statistics on her as she was a stray. Had her for 40 days now. Max (the cocker) and her (Golden Retriever mix) are now getting along really well--A little challenge at 1st but they pretty much do everything together now. Sami has gotten Max off his tired butt and Max is even playing with toys now and will even go and retrieve the ball for Sami at times. I think Max did miss having another dog around after Corky left us. And Max (Paxer) being 'an old man'--12 on April 1st pretty much had decided to sleep the rest of his life away. Sami has perked him up a lot! She is no 'spring chicken' either--a guess being made of about 10 years old--But she acts like a 2-4 yr. old--Loves retrieving balls! Lol, if I could just get Max to play ball--shove back and forth, etc. with her so I didn't have to continually!

She is gorgeous. So is Max - I love those curls. I think you are amazing for taking on a dog like Sami. Have you any idea how they aged her? The reason I ask is that my parents were told that their dog was around 5 years old based on the condition of her teeth. In fact she was much younger and her teeth were poor because she had had such an awful start in life. I wonder if it could be the same with Sami? Whatever she has been through it is lovely to think that she will have a loving home for the rest of her days.

Thank you! The vet(s) pretty much based it on the teeth too and white/grey of the muzzle, although I don't see that much there--Max has really gotten whiter there in past year or so. I saw 2 dif. vets as my reg. vet was on vacation when I first took Sami in for a good check-up and she thought about 10--But she had also said about the teeth--either showed her age or she played with a ball a lot as they were wore down--also missing 3 teeth in upper front and of course she had 2 loose teeth pulled while she was under for the cancer operation--So she is pretty toothless--front uppers-all (5) and all in the middle front top.--But it sure doesn't stop her from mouthing a ball all the time. But it is prob. a combination of ball playing and older age--But I hope you are right and would be great if she is really a couple years younger than 10.
Lol, I like my cocker, Max, to have curly hair but wanted Sami to have a coat like the Golden Retriever--Corky (Cocker/Golden mix) had the Retriever coat mainly--I loved his coat! Sami is part Golden (I think!) and think the rest is Cocker. I wanted another Corky in looks. If all that is true about them being the same mix---Can see how they can look different even being pretty much the same breeds. Sami's coat I think is a cocker coat trying a little to be a Golden's--It is sort of a loose half curl that won't lay down.
Yes, Sami is stuck with me --part of the family, and lol, she knows it--Made herself right at home--Should see all the places she sleeps and the crazy positions she gets in. She usually ends up in a dog bed in my bedroom after I go to bed.

Totally rambing on here....
It's good to hear Sami is doing well with everything she has gone through. She looks so pretty and happy there. She really does have a beautiful looking coat, I'm betting the photo's don't even do her justice. And I may be a bit weird but she doesn't even "look" 10. She looks younger & the way you talk about her, she sounds much younger too! Like I said...I may be strange but that's just my opinion anyway. I'm glad both her & Max are settling well into their new routine with eachother.
On a side note C/M, while looking thru your album,..WOW, you read a lot! LOL You have at least 3 bookcases from what I can tell. I love books. I don't think I could ever go to electronic readers like the Kindle..there's something about the feel & smell of a book that you can't replace. I think it's wonderful when people have their own collections. Plus, sneaking a peek at the titles speaks VOLUMES (pin intended!) on a person.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

Thanks for the comments on Sami.
Lol, about the books---I don't read much anymore, darn, I fall asleep trying to read anymore. Most of my books are pretty dated, which wouldn't matter on many subjects, esp. novels but a lot of mine are outdated like the crafts, health, medical/diabetes, and a lot of the ones on nutrition, lol, even some of the cookbooks.
But, I have many books on gardening, dogs--nutrition and health etc; astrology/occult/Sylvia Browne/Edgar Cayce/Seth; novels-Stephen King and a big mix of other things that I still hope to get into again.
I actually have, besides the 3 big bookcases, 6 smaller bookcases and quite a few shelves that are all in the bedroom--2 of the smaller cases are also in the living room. Lol, I am a pack rat and hard for me to get rid of things, else I'd prob. get rid of at least half of my books!
Lange, I think we think a lot alike! I also try to check out book titles I see in pics. You are Taurus too if I remember right---It would be interesting to see all your planet placements to compare to mine!

lol I think we'd find a LOT in common. I don't have many novels, but the majority of those are Steven King (my fav is The Stand). I have only 1 of Sylvia Brown (but for some reason she rubs me the wrong way), 3 of Edgar Cayce, Carl Jung, a few astrology, different kind of "new agey" ones, religious books, cookbooks, dogs, psychology, & on..Most I bought when I was younger. I sneak reading in here & there when I can so I'm at a snails pace right now too.
Did you hear something about the signs having moved recently? I haven't looked into it but I'm curious about what the heck they're talking about. So, yes, the last I checked I was a Taurus. LOL Off the top of my head, I know my moon was in Pisces & ascendant in Leo. I forgot the rest though. My fav planet has always been the moon, I'd guess yours is in a water sign as well?..
I don't have much room for a big book case but I really need to add some more shelves at least. I miss my old books!..

I also have this thing with Sylvia Brown--I think it has to do with her character--the way she acts--aloof at times--sometimes her attitude--Hard to put a finger on it--As seen on tv anyhow--maybe it is a cover-up. I think her books are small and a lot of 'filler' in them so high priced for what you get BUT I have to read some of the 'tidbits' she offers and hope they are true.

Nope, My moon sign is also Taurus--I have a big stellum (May be misspelled) of planets in Taurus--Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, besides the Sun and Moon.--And that is not a good thing--one track mind for one thing! BUT my ascendant is PISCES--so we have at least 2 the same as far as the top 3 placements--Sun, Moon, and Ascendant.
As far as the new sign---It isn't going to change where your planets are placed (and the meanings)as far as the 'sky' goes although I would think it would add the characteristics (whatever they are) of that sign (constellation) to the people who were born in that sign. The way I see it --the people who have this sign in their chart--always did have the characteristics of it and always will but now they will be AWARE of what the meaning is. "Mind is the builder!" -- (Things have to start as a thought before they come into being!) What I am getting at here: Things are not known until it is the right time--So what does this mean!! How will it affect 'the world'--I figure it is going to start a change of future events--(New Knowledge is going to come into play) Hope you understand what I am trying to say.
If you will put--Ophiuchus--in your browser you will get many links on this. It is called the snake annoyer---snake has to do with wisdom (medicine, etc but also think just wisdom period) This is just my thoughts--Awakening of new medical breakthroughs or is it just plain new knowledge of many things?! And what does the annoyer mean--Could it mean new controversy on newly discovered ideas/knowledge?--A lot of ethnical, etc. pros and cons perhaps?
Bringing this 'old/new' sign to the attention of the public that it is there --What all is it going to bring to the surface!? The people born in this sign--Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
I don't have much room for a big book case but I really need to add some more shelves at least. I miss my old books!..

Lol, just got a message that my message is too short--Because I wrote amongst your words instead of placing outside your quotes--doesn't get recognized so now I guess it will 'enter!'

LOL Glad you got it to work.
That's interesting! I'm going to search on Ophiuchus..the snake annoyer.. Well if that doesn't have mysterious written all over it..
I feel for you on the emphasis of Taurus for you. lol In one sense it's easier with less dueling going on... but OUCH! all the same. lol you also have the same obstacles for one....you must be quadruply hard headed too!

Sami is beautiful! She and Max look qiote at home with eachother! I'm glad she's recovering well, and hope you all have a long happy life together!
I too noticed the book shelves... my house is alot like that as well i have books everywhere, I could never do electronic reading either... as I need a book in my hand. My books are all dog related or novels though. I read purely for entertainment. I dont watch tv... I read.
