I'm a little behind here... but WOW he's just GORGEOUS!!! I cant wait to see what he looks like all grown up!

I wonder if his Momma had any greyhound in her? she looks somewhat long and lanky. Otherwise, I'd guess husky, or another spitz type dog. Def. not lab or Golden... However she does have that spot of white with freckles under her chin, so maybe a bit of Border Collie? Whatever she is, she's absolutely stunning!

I have looked at Horizon Legacy, and I really like their product! however all their grain-free stuff has Chicken in it, so a no-go for our household... so I went with an even closer to home grain-free product, Acana Pacifica... fish only for my 3 allergy-ridden dogs.

I hate puppies, no really, I do

I had three puppies in my house for awhile at one time.... UGGH

Yeah I started him on Acana actually and It's a good food too. But neither of my dogs have allergies (so far!) and I really like the Horizon. Too bad they don't have a fish formula...

Your video is awesome, I totally get the "clicker training" method for the deaf dogs, it makes so much sense. He's an awesome little guy too! Love that patch on his rump

Maybe you can tell me how you got him to actually CHEW that food!? LOL Axis literally inhales his food no matter what I've tried so far...

Mouse chews the food, as it's too big for her to swallow... smaller treats she inhales. Mouse is what would happen to 1/4 of the pups if you bred your pup to another Merle... Little bits and peices of Merle on a white background

Thats what I get for posting after I've been up for 20 hours or so! Sorry 'bout that!!!

Lol, yeah not my deal, (glad I got to see it though) Only a few more posts to go ;o)

Yeah I am definitely aware of the risks of double merles I've been doing a bunch of research since becoming enamored with aussies ;o) (I also liked mix breeds though too which is why Axis is so perfect for me ) )
I intend to get him snipped at the 6 month mark so no worries of producing MM pups from my end.
I could see though why people would want to breed 2 merles not knowing any better because one would assume (If you didn't know much about genetics) that the offspring would be all merle or cool different colors etc... That's why I'm realizing it's so important to educate people about it. I know you like deaf dogs and there are a whole community of people who do but I fear the ratio of people like you to deaf/blind dogs that need homes is dramatically counter balanced (

What program did you use to edit your videos? I have some training vids of Axis too but I'd like to mash them together so it's not so boring watching all the in between stuff...

Yeah, we are an odd lot, us deaf dog lovers!! A bit fanatic at times LOL... but it's not a case of preferring them, it's a case of them making very good pets... that's what I'm always trying to educate people about... you ever get one, and you'll feel the most amazing bond with a dog, you've ever had... but they're not very common in Canada, like they are in the US.

I used the program that was on my Macbook... which is now defunct, and I couldn't afford to replace it... so I'm actually looking for a program for the PC I now have But I took a bunch of short videos and put them together.

Hey, I just saw that you and I are at the same # of posts! LOL

Haha! I noticed that earlier too! ;o)

If I find a good program I'll let you know.

I met a partially deaf dachshund in Victoria when I was there last.
If I were more stable I'd have another dog... You have 5 is it? I never thought I'd have two dogs actually, I figured I wouldn't get another dog until Raina had left my life... Now That I have a new pup I think it brings youthfulness out of her ;o) But sometimes I do worry that she feels kinda left out. I'm doing a lot of training sessions with Axis and a lot of attention is on him to make sure he's on track and not chewing on things etc.... She's very understanding and patient though.
I actually considered getting another dog a few days ago! She was a rescue aussie in Texas, I even emailed and called the contact on the page I found but they never got back to me, (which is probably a good thing!) Lol I can see how getting dogs can be addictive ;o)

It really is addictive, I'm constantly bombarded by "URGENT!!! DOG DIES TODAY IN ____ SHELTER" messages and e-mails. I actually do have a dog from Texas! LOL Oliver, he's my defective deaf dog... he was supposed to be deaf, but as his skin healed from the flea infestation, his hearing came back. He's a lucky boy, he'll never have to deal with fleas again here.

I'll do the same for you, if I find a program for editing video's I like... It sucks not being able to share what my dogs are up to! Ollie's rescuer in Houston LOVES it when I send her video's of Ollie
