Default The final countdown ....

Three little pups found left to die in a dump in Indonesia ... found and rescued in January. It became the mission of my close friend who found them and I to bring them back to health and to get them to Canada.
Well, I just wanted to share the news that the little girls made it out of there ... my friend is flying with them and they left Indonesia and are now boarding after their layover in Taipei.

Our babies will be arriving in 12 hours and I can't tell you all what an experience this has been. I have been here in Canada and my friend has truly done all the leg work in making this possible.

I will be raising Suci and Jalan and my friend will be keeping little Bulan who was the runt of the litter.

I am so incredibly emotional and can't believe it all was successful. It truly was a nail biting experience with not knowing if they would make it out of Bali or not. With the help of vets, B.A.R.C. and a huge support system, it was all made possible.

Here is a picture of them leaving on their long journey home to Canada.

The kindness of people is overwhelming!!

Our girls are coming home

They are beautiful & very lucky dogs! I hope all of you involved, in bringing them their new life, will be rewarded 7 fold. Keep us updated & let us know how they settle in & how you all are doing.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

Talking Happy for You and the 3 pups!

That is good news! Now will they have to be quarantined at all--Hope not---I remember that Gary (a member here) got a dog out of Afghanistan and it had to be quarantined I think for about 6 months?-- he lived in England-(soldier in Afghan).

Also wondering which ones are which in that picture? They all look pretty healthy,--which one is the runt? and which one is Suci? Lucky dogs and thanks again for rescuing. Keep us posted when you get them settled in and have time--more pics too!?

Thanks for the well wishes

Suci is the one standing and Jalan is laying beside her. Bulan was the runt and is white.

Suci was the weakest in the beginning and is now the biggest!! Suci was the little one that they thought may not make it in the beginning. Look at her now!!!! They are all doing so well. When they were first found, they were so malnourished and had very bad skin. They were treated with meds and some sort of sulphur bath. Now they are all doing great. Jalan had a parasite of some sort about 4 weeks ago and was treated and now doing well.

They will not have to be quarantined which is a huge relief. They have been through enough without having to endure that. Just keep telling myself that this will be the hardest thing they will ever have to go through. From the moment they hit Canadian soil, they will be loved and safe for life.

I will absolutely keep you all updated on how they are doing and what their little personalities are like. Keep your fingers crossed that my retriever takes to them ... I'm sure she will and will let them know their place

Simply smiling

I am sure your Golden will do just fine with them--Prob. be glad to see them join the family! I know the 2 new pups are in the limelight right now but I love Golden Retrievers so much --Can't stop talking about them! My experience with the breed---Always happy, smiling- easy going breed--Don't you think!?

Oh I couldn't agree more about Goldens. Kyda is the queen of the castle and she has without a doubt been the best dog imaginable! I love her to bits ...my best friend for 11 years
Goldens are gentle, loyal, sweet and when they smile it melts your heart! My mom always said I should have named her 'please' because she would do anything to make all around her happy!
Will post family pics with all when I get them

OUR GIRLS MADE IT!!!!

Suci and Jalan are here and happily settling in. Jalan is tiny and so trusting. She loves to be cuddled by all and kisses like crazy. Suci is the larger of the two and not quite as trusting of new people as her sister. She has accepted all of us so well, but she is somewhat leery of men and it has taken a couple days to have her trust my husband, son and daughter's boyfriend. She is constantly going right between my feet and follows me everywhere. I just love them and feel like they were meant to be with us.

My wonderful golden retriever Kyda is keeping the girls in line. If the little ones start getting carried away with play fighting, Kyda will get up and go stand between them ... give a little growl and it's like they know she's saying "that's enough, you're getting carried away" haha. She did try to take over their bed, but she didn't quite fit ... pic attached haha

Here's a few pics of our wonderful angels.

Wonderful!

I hadn't realised how small they were - from the first photo I thought they were much larger.

They look very at home. Love the pic of your golden sitting on the little bed.

Talking

Happy to see they are safe and sound--Look pretty good and none the worse for what their life use to be! Love that next to last photo (being held). Also love the pics of Kyda. Wish my Golden mix had the longer coat like your Kyda but think she got something in between a Golden Retriever and a Cocker Spaniel. And, lol, Sami likes to get in that type bed too but she is prob. a lot smaller than your Kyda--weighs about 40#. I did a thread in here on her many positions (sleeping): Many "positions" of Sami The 3 next to last pics are of her in that type bed.

Looks like your cat is 'unconcerned' about it all! I got a feeling though that your 2 'girls' may notice your cat in time. Hope they will all learn to get a long.

Keep us updated on your beautiful family. Lol, you'll prob. have a few good stories to tell. Enjoy!

LOL That's a priceless pic of Kyda in their bed.

I'm glad they made it safely home. You'll have your hands full for a while. Sorry if you have already mentioned this but how old are the 2 new girls? I can't remember..

Aw I LOVE the pics of Sami! Absolutely adorable!! Thanks for putting in the link so I could see I would say weight wise Kyda is just shy of being double. She's been 'big boned' all her life The long coat is a blessing and a curse as Kyda has sensitive skin and is prone to ear infections so have to keep her belly and inner ear clipped all the time.

When the girls were still in Indonesia, they actually stayed where there was a cat after the rescue. They go nose to nose with Maggie and kiss her but my other cat Bitz is not so impressed by them. She is SLOWLY coming around.

We guess their age to be approx. 12 weeks but unfortunately can't confirm that given that some beast disposed of them like they were common house trash. Here's cheering for good ol' karma.

So far the girls are doing well but have to keep working on their sleep pattern as I think they are still on Indo. time. Ah well soon come ... I hope haha

thanks for allowing me to share their story with all of you and for your support.

P.s. Any advice on getting Suci to trust men. All I can think of is time. My husband is the one that gives them the little treats and then strokes them gently but Suci will still go to nip him if he doesn't approach just right.
