pet chips and such
We got Mr. Sweaters chipped. Wierd place called 24petwatch.com. Never heard of it. Then the vet gave us a tag with getmehome.com on it and you go to the site and enter your dogs info and address and phone number and anyone who finds your dog can look at the tag and get online to see where your dog lives. I just thought you got your pet chipped and that was the end of it, but the vet said not all chip readers read all types of chips and it's best to have the extra security. And it didn't cost me anything. It was free with the puppy exam. He has a slight cough and is on antibiotics. He's had all of his shots though, so it's not kennel cough. The vet said it could take up to a month to get rid of a cough.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

I believe the Home Again chips are the most common.
Brainstorm: Can you have more tham one chip in your dog? The 24 pet watch chip was put in at the shelter. That's what they put in. Can I take him to the vet and have the Home Again chip put in? That's what the vet uses. He would have 2 chips then.

As long as they don't have to go thru metal detectors I would think "Yes", right? I really need to get on the ball with getting both of my guys chipped. I'm going to look into Home Again. Ty Luna. BTW Why the heck are we both up so late??

The Home Again chip is an ISO chip that is the only recognized worldwide chip. The Canadian Kennel Club only recognizes this chip and any purebred registered with them must have it.
It offers many benefits including airfare home for a dog lost and found over 500 miles from home. Up to $3,000 in vet coverage if the dog is injured or hurt when lost.
They also send e-mails to all dog owners whose pets have Home Again chips within approx 75 mile radius alerting them of the dog being lost as well as Veterinary clinics and rescues. I converted to these a few years ago from Avid chips.
Oh, yes you can have more than one chip but alert the vet where the other was placed. The Home Again chip is smaller and actually is designed specifically to stay where it is injected where the others are prone to floating.
