I am curious to know!-----Here is a law that is going into effect on June 1st here in Wisconsin. Are there laws like this in other states?

I don't believe Indiana does. I don't always like the gov stepping in & regulating everything but in this area, it's a great thing. I'm glad they're stepping in in WI.

Here's an overview of US states pet shop laws: The Current State of Pet Shop Laws
They have 2 charts linked for quick state reviews

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

Thanks, Lange, for that list--very informative. I hope this info is updated regularly as Wisconsin will be 'doing better' after May 31st!

West Virginia doesn't have many laws about pets/animals. As far as I know even our leash laws go city by city. The only law that I know of for a fact is all dogs must have a rabies vaccine. And even then its not enforced. Last summer my son got bit by a pitbull. The dog was on a chain that could reach the neighbors yard. He bite him twice, once taking about a 3 inch wide by 3/4 of an in deep chunk out of his leg. Needless to say I began alot of reading on what could be done about it. Of course not much when you dont have much for money! I think pet laws should be federal not state by state or city by city.
