Update
The so-called shelter that has custody of Yogi's animals charges $100-$300 for their adoption fee depending on the breed..A friend of Yogi's inquired about adopting them. She was told the adoption fee will be $300 for each dog..They are charging this amount and profiting off the fact that the dogs are purebred. In the years I have been involved in rescue I've never come across a shelter that not only charges such an outrageous fee but that does so because the dog is purebred...With the state of the economy it's quite obvious most people can not afford such a fee..The friend that inquired about the dog and mind you she can take all of them if need be was told they would not let her adopt any of them because she lived out of state...That rule is a new one on me as well..This agency which by the way is NOT a no-kill shelter is obviously not interested in the best interests of these animals..The friend who called to inquire was also treated very rudely by the shelter manager..I have all of the contact information for the shelter and the shelter manager in my first post on this thread and I am asking members here to please call or send an e-mail to the manager who's name is listed and let them know how wrong this is and how it's counter productive in helping these animals find new forever homes..I'm hoping that if enough pressure is put on them that they may reduce the fee and allow Yogi's friend or others from out of state and willing to adopt them to do so...Thank you

Those people are assholes! They refuse to adopt to people out of state.

...It's all still so sad & shocking.
I emailed them to ask what their adoption procedures are. I couldn't find any relevant info on their site.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

I can't even get the woman who is the manager to respond to my e-mail..She was extremely rude to another friend of Yogi's who called to inquire about adopting them.

It just breaks my heart that Yogi's dogs are in this position. I'd gladly take one but, Luna says they won't adopt dogs out of the state. Therefore, they surely wouldn't let me bring one into Canada...
