He's not so much of a lap dog. He comes up and smothers me with kisses then sits next to me. He likes to be really close - sometimes with his head on my lap. He sits by me on the sofa or on the arm of my chair.

He is just so adorable with either the long hair or the short cut. Although, my choice would be the long hair. Either way, very cute.

He is such a cutie! I think I prefer the shorter hair cut---It doesn't appear to be real short--just right for him. How old is he now, Cig?

He's four and a half - five in February.
You wouldn't believe the struggle I went through before having him clipped! But we had one of the hottest summers we have had for a long time and he really was showing signs that the heat was bothering him. I won't do it again unless he shows he needs it but as it had to be done I was really pleased with the way the groomer did it.

Aww...I'm in love. I actually think he looks cuter as an adult than as a puppy! What is the world coming to...

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

He is waaaaaay cuter as an adult. As a puppy I was his favourite chew toy. Now he is my teddy bear!

I've heard that if you cut a rough coated JRT, their hair never grows back in properly. Did his coat grow back the same?

He was only clipped about 5 weeks ago so I don't know how it will grow back. I look at him now and to me he looks as he did when he was clipped but I really don't know.
So far as a Jack Russell coat is concerned his coat would have been classed as a serious fault in the first place - far too long and silky - useless for a rough tough working dog. So if it doesn't grow back as it was he will look much more respectable.
I have heard as well that the coat should be stripped, not cut, but I really didn't have an option. He was huffing and puffing so had to be cooled down asap. I hope it does grow long again but it was a chance I had to take.
