So cute! I wish we could do play dates.
I love when their fur has that blanket look..i don't know how else to describe it... Kuma obviously doesn't really have that since she's so long but when I see it on Akita's it reminds me of being cuddled up in a warm blanket on a cold snowy night. As I get older, I have less patience for our long winters but I think having Kuma helps me get over it day by day since I know they just RELISH in their element.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

That's what his coat looks like in the beginning stage when it first starts to blow and I've been to lazy to brush him out..It takes a minimum of an hour to get him really good and since he absolutely despises it it takes me and hubby all though all he's good for is holding Seigi's leash lol..
As for the winters I know exactly what you mean...I love the cold but last winter really pushed me to my limit and you're right the only thing that made it bareable was watching him play in the snow!
I wish we could do a play date to...You'd laugh your butt off the way his big self whimps out to the ladies lol.

Besides coat length, i still cant get past how much he and kato look alike, everything about them both is almost identical

I know that's always amazed me..I just know if we took the time to compare their bloodlines a few generations back we'd find they're related even if it was distantly..He's grandparents and great grandparents come from some really old top bloodlines and I know for a fact there where quite a few pups from those lines that went out of the country..Not to mention there were a few long coats that I'm aware of that came from those lines as well.

Didnt we already work that one out a while back??? Im sure we detirmined that both of them had lines coming in from Mindas Akitas, in Georgys line. Georgy was Katos Grandfather.

We did go back into their lines but I went even further back and found another 3 bloodlines and it was the older lines that quite a few pups went out of the country and the long coats came from..In fact one of the oldest lines was fom Chereed's Akita's and Scioto's Bluff and the breeders from Chereed's Akita's actually retired many years ago and they prodiced some of the top Akita's in the country.

LOL,I swear I'm in shock whenever mine actually gets up in the morning and lets Seigi out..Usually I get the excuse "Well he didn't let me know he wanted to go out"..At which point I tell him "Of course not..He waits for me to get up because he's not used to you doing it since you never do"..lol
