He doesn't go poo on a leash. I could walk all day with him on a leash and he won't go.
I think if I just take him with me every time I go out, he will begin to understand. I can try to walk him around the yard on a leash. I tried to get him to lay by the picnic table like he used to do and he freaked.

This may be way off, but if Porters infection is at the base of his tail, would he be in any pain when he poos. Maybe he has made a connection with the pain and going outside???
Whatever the reason, I hope Porter gets better soon, both physically and emotional. He looks so sweet in the pictures!

Wow! I am so glad you have Porter back and he sure does look happy to be back. I took the same thing-Cephalexan-- for my cellulitis (diabetics get it easier ---infection from bacteria under the skin) but I got allergic to it--started getting an itchy rash) and had to take something else. That sounds like a very heavy dose--hope he doesn't get an allergy to it! How long does he have to take it? I hope you also got some probiotic capsules from the vet? (regular yogurt will not help this) Love the pics--Was Buster, (especially him as I think you mentioned those 2 together before) happy to see him back?

Yes, he was happy to see Porter. Those two carried on as if Porter had never left. No, the infection isn't the reason why he isn't going poo outside. He goes poo just fine. He is terrified of the yard.
