Well we live in the country and now we have our country dog..Now all I need to do is go to the feed store and by some overalls lol..

On a serious note though at this point it all depends on Chances reaction to Seigi but that's what will determine Seigi's reaction..The little Bulldog next door (his girlfriend) will literally clamp on to the side of his face and hang there and he could careless however she rolls on her back the minute she sees him so she's no threat to him...From what I've seen with Chance with the exception of his timidness with people he's a fearless little booger..I've already put hubby on alert that we'll be taking them up the street to the park seperately to introduce them because we can't do it on Seigi's territory..Seigi loves to play with other dogs and I know he'd love a playmate so it's just going to depend on how they react to each other..I'm debating whether or not to wait until Chance is neutered to introduce them..

On a good note it seems Chance is housebroken and he does wonderful in the crate over night but it brings a tear to my eye when I take him out each morning because he's just so excited and grateful to see me..If it works out with both the boys we'll for sure adopt him!!

That is good news! Hope Seigi likes him--If he does, I bet they will have a lot of fun together. How do they react to each other right now--from the distance I know that you have them apart? And I'm sure that you know even if they aren't the friendliest right now--It may take a little while. I know my Max wasn't too happy with Sami when I 1st brought her home but after a week or so---like each other now--every morning Sami has to greet Max--licks him and wags her tail. Sleep in the same bed together--when it isn't hot out. I was thinking the same as Luna--that it happened for a reason and that dog knew where to go!!

They're seperated by a closed door so they haven't even really see each other...I'll have to wait until Chance is neutered and healed from the surgery before I can begin the introduction process...With Akita's having a tendency to be same sex aggressive it's never safe to introduce a neutered male to one who isn't..it's going to be a long process and take some time before I can actually let Chance have free run in the house like Seigi does..It has to be done in baby steps..Plus Seigi went through the whole issue with the MIL so I have to do it in a way that he doesn't feel his space is being invaded or his status is being challenged.

Stray Rescue of St.Louis which is the rescue I really wanted Chance to go to just e-mailed me with the same proprosal of the lady we heard from today..with this one though I would be the one doing the home study and adoption approval and if chance was returned he'd come back to us not the shelter..She's already given their vet the approval for his check up and neutering and gave me the number to call to set it up!!

I'm going to wait until Monday when I talk to Carolyn from the other rescue and see how long it will take them to get him vetted and If I'll have say so as far as who adopts him..If not and if it's going to take longer then a few days to get him vetted then I'll go with Stray Rescue..Carolyn's rescue (New Beginings) would be better for us as far as distance since she's much closer and Stray Rescue as well as their vet is over 60 miles away but will go with whichever one can do better by him and is more conducive to what we need for ours and Chances situation.Amazing how first I couldn't find anyone to help us out and now I've got two who want to help!!..I guess God knew this was the plave for Chance to come!!

So am I..This liitle guy deserves a shot at a good life..We went out today and but him a bone and his own little stuffed toy and when I just went to check on him he's currled up on his little blanket with both them right by his head..He's just so darn sweet!

I think he was born with a bob tail..I can't see anyone having him that would actually put out the money to have his tail docked since they apparently didn't care enough to keep him home and it doesn't look like it sustained any type of a traumatic injury that would have caused it to fall off...

That's very true but we think someone dumped him out here from one o the neighboring big towns because the guy at City Hall said he's been getting call on Chance running lose for the past 3 weeks and no one around here has called to report him missing.

Well guys I think Chance is going to make it a bit difficult when it comes to Seigi...One of my neighbors two houses down has a German Short-haired Pointer named Gizmo..Well Gizmo believes she's the neighborhood watch dog and barks at everyone and everything..Well today she was outside when I was walking Chance and as usual she started barking..Well he simply stopped,looked over at her and stared her down until she walked away...now when I put Seigi in the kennel Chance jumps up on the ledge and stares at Seigi the whole time he's out there..The only difference is Seigi won't back down and walk away...

Their introduction is going to be a challenge and battle of the wills I do believe!!
