IMO. the most important command to teach your dog is, "stay."

Hunter knows 4 of those five tricks, + others. We teach alot of trick in our classes. The new one I'm working on now is weaving thru my legs as I walk. Nina knows a ton of tricks too, shes a smarty, takes about 15 min to teach her. Every morning they wait for me in the kitchen to do their tricks for treats before we start the day.

It depends. For everyone it's different. In my household "stop" and "down" are on the top of my list. When I say stop, they need to stop whatever it is they are doing and get in a down position. If they are laying down, they aren't running anywhere. When I say "ok" they may continue going about being a dog. I don't think there is a most important command. Training and manners is a must for any dog.

Hunter first learned Come, Place, Sit. When he had those down to a t. Then came Heel, Down, Stop, Wall. Roll over, spin, touch, reverse, out, and we are still learning new things. It keeps training fun and new for your dog.It challenges them. All dogs love to please, and be praised. This has helped Hunter be more social towards people. which was why I got him into this type of training. Having a well behaved dog was a bonus And when there are those times he starts to stress, I start to give him commands and it gets his mind in to a positive behavior.

My dogs just know the basics although Kuma knows a couple for fun. The one I wish I could teach her is 'speak'.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

Ha Ha Ha, Id love to see that. Thats a good one. Nina knows speak, and sometimes we cant get her to stop, silly girl. She also sneezes on cue.

I will try to make a video or take a pic sometime. Sometimes I have him do it just to get him out of the way for a minute or so, like when we were busy hauling a piece of furniture out of the house. He has to get right in the way and that's an easy way to move him for a little bit.
