And now, a poem~
It's a sad poem, but I felt very inspired today and I thought, "What better place to post it?" I hope it's still enjoyable, despite it's heartbreaking inspiration :(
"Homeless"
I sit here on this cold, cold floor,
Waiting for someone to come and see.
To take me home, make me their own,
Be the friend they're supposed to be.
The cages are emptied daily,
Of the dogs whose times are up.
But they're replaced almost instantly,
By another dog or pup.
People walk right by us,
We're just not what they need.
We've just got too much baggage,
We're just not the right breed.
I watch some dogs get taken,
They think they've found a home.
But then they're brought right back again,
And left to be alone.
I wish someone would take me,
I'd make them so happy in the end.
I'm not asking for very much,
Just the chance to have a friend.
I know I don't look like much;
Timid stance, un-wagging tail.
But it's hard to wear a happy face,
When you're in doggy hell.
