Doggy incontinance
I was wondering how to make a belly band for Stubbs, because he dribbles when he walks. Sometimes he pees in his sleep too. The stores around here are so retarded that they don't sell them. I was thinking I could use a wide Ace bandage. But what do I use to absorb the pee. I was going to try to use a feminine hygiene pad, but they are too narrow. Anyone have any suggestions?
I was thinking...I do have a sewing machine and some yards of material I bought at a yard sale. Is there any way I can make something for him? What would I do so it doesn't leak everywhere??? How would I fasten it? They have gorilla glue and gorilla tape. Do they have gorilla velcro?

Lol, My excuse is I should of gone to bed 2-3 hrs ago!! So my head is a little off but can maybe start with some ideas and somebody else can 'carry the ball!'
Maybe make a diaper that will fit from that material and have a pocket in the appropriate place and insert a pad like humans use---Not sure how they look but think Walgreens carries them---I am not referring to a feminine hygiene pad--I told you I wasn't thinking straight---What humans use when they have incontinence -----Would they be wider than a feminine hygiene pad? Now if you could also layer on some kind of leak proof material on the outside of this material you have would make it even better.
Another idea---Make some washable pillows to insert in the 'diaper' you would make with the material you have----Make several to have on hand----You could stuff them with washable filling like they use in dog beds.

Pads are the only thing I can come up with too other than just folding an absorbent fabric a few times in that area.
I think this project might be trial & error until you find what works. Or last case scenario, you could just order a washable band online.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

I just googled dogs homemade diapers and this came up: Dog Diapers, Cheap Homemade Dog Diapers That Stay On I don't know how big these go up to but maybe you can get some ideas anyway. I am still looking at the rest of the sites that came up---adding as I see them. My computer crashes a lot, etc.--so editing here as I go!

This is a sentence from another site: Possibly an old sheet cut into adequate rectangles would give you what you need
You might get some ideas here even though you have large dogs: Homemade Diaper for a Female Dog | Archive | ThriftyFun
Purchase a pair of boy's briefs. The size will be determined by the size of your dog. If you have a very large breed dog such as a Mastiff, you can use men's briefs.
Place the briefs on your dog so they are backward. The flap should be on top and the back of the briefs should be on the bottom. Her back legs should go through the leg holes. You can put her tail through the flap in the front of the briefs.
Place a feminine pad inside the brief on the underside of your dog. For best results, use a pad that has double strip of sticky tape to hold it in place.
Change the feminine pad as needed.

How about making a washable diaper out of unbleached cotton canvas? You could probably find a pattern on the internet or make one from one of the diapers you have. Use stainless steel snaps instead of velcro, as this will cut down on the diaper picking up foreign objects that could lead to further rashes. Then either make your own pads or buy the cheapest maxi pads you can find to serve as a disposable liner.

You are a hoot! I actually know the lady who owns Monk. I just love him to pieces! I don't need a diaper, just a belly band. I did find 3 for 9.99 on e-bay. I'm thinking about getting them. It's for Stubbs, the boxer that we found. Thank goodness I don't have to diaper my saint bernards. That would be a chore consider getting them up after they lay down is like getting an elephant to move.

Not laughing. I've actually thought of it myself. I assume a sanitary napkin is a feminine hygiene pad?
