We had to have Stubbs put to sleep yesterday. He got bloat and there was a big tumor in the way and they couldn't get his stomach turned right. So we had to say goodbye.

I've gotten so used to him laying under my desk chair that I still check and make sure I don't run over his ears with it when I go to get up.

it was like that when i had to put down nero, my hybrid (and i mean "hybrid", not "designer dog"). for weeks and even months after, i would stand up from the couch and automatically pause to give him time to get up and out of the way only to feel the loss all over again when i looked down and there was nobody there. it's been 15 years but i still get verklampt when i see his collar.

i'm not going to say "time heals all wounds" or stuff like that but i will say he'll always be with you. i still feel nero from time to time, checking in on me. he was like that.

Oh Luna, I'm so sorry. I'm sure he appreciated you being there for him when no one else was. That dreaded bloat is horrible thing. Poor baby with a tumor too.. He had a good life with you at the end, imagine if he had been alone. HUGS to you!!

Oh sweetie I'm so sorry...Just remember you made the last few months of his life comfortable and loving...Stubbs was a very lucky boy to have found you!

I just now saw this thread---Was shocked to read of this---Sorry Luna! I know all to well how you must feel and there isn't much I can say that will change it. You will see him again some day.You have my deepest sympathies.
