Default Petland

Petland here in Marion Ohio is gone! We no longer have any more stores that buy from puppy mills. I am glad to see them go.

We still have a Petland, however they have stopped selling puppies. And we have no other petstore that sells puppies, so we're in the clear too!

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

Looks like the one out here {Toledo} is gone, too. There is one place I know of, Dave's Tropical Fish, who continues to sell puppy mill pups. My mom use to take my brother and I as kids before the evils of pet stores had occurred to any of us. On one of our trips, my brother, the turtle-buff, saw they had a Blandings turtle, which is an endangered species. Reported it. Then shortly later, needing a cardboard box, we went to grab one from their stack by the curb put out for trash, and a snake lunged at us. Thinking it had been a mistake to have thrown out a snake, my mom told the owner. When we drove by again, the boxes were stacked orderly, likely to hide the fact that they threw away a living animal. That was about 20 years ago, but one of these days we'll hopefully put them out of business.
