Last year we lost our beloved Trinity. During the search for a new Akita, I came across a breeder's website who lived somewhere in Alabama. They were trying to get a brendal (sp?) coat. I remember they mentioned they were able to accomplish the coat, but that the eyes were coming out as glass instead of brown. Does anyone here know of this breeder, and if so, how I can reach them?
I adopted a beautiful Akita rescue from Alabama in November of last year. She was 9 months old at the time. My vet says that she is a purebred, the only thing that is not breed standard are her eyes, they are glass, one of which is cracked. She is mostly black with white markings, but her under fur is brendal(sp). I am hoping to get more info on her bloodline. She has not been altered, and I would like to breed her to get a replacement for her, should anything unforseen happen. After what my family went through when Trinity died, I don't want to risk going through such a hard time again. I will not be breeding her until she is older, but I do want to breed her to another Akita. I just don't want to breed her to any "family".

If she is a rescue dog, you should NOT be considering breeding her. Full stop. :evil:
