Default Vet bills

Could anyone with a yorkie please tell me about how much i can expect to pay in vet bills a year or a month? Like...are they prone to being sick a lot and having to take them to the vet often or are they really healty the majority of the time as long as you put them on heartworm prevetnion, flea prevention, rabies shots and their puppy booster shots? I have heard that miniture, toy, and teacup yorkies are prone to health problems but what about a normal yorkie? Please let me know any and all information you know!
Thanks!

Well, I don't have a yorkie, but my aunt has had one for years. As far as I know, she's never had any problems with it being sick. I don't know if this is rare for yorkies, or if it's normal. I just know that my aunt has never had any trouble. Hope this helps at least a little.

Hi there!
I personally have a mutt, but my bestfriend is a yorkie freak, and she's had quite a few, and her mother breeds them and boards them ( doggie daycare type of thing)
So far the biggest thing I have seen with her yokies and yorky puppies is the grooming! If you are brave enough to do it yourself, you'll save alot, but the groomers are the most expensive thing I have noticed. They are such a small dog breed, I would be scared to do it myself personally but My friends mother and my friend do their own grooming.
So far vet bills with them included neutering, tooth removal, annual shots and heat stroke.
Hope this helps!

I don't have a Yorkie, but I have pet health insurance on my JRT, and it covers a TON of stuff, even routine visits, so in the end, I more than break even by having the policy.

Google "pet health insurance" and you will come up with a bunch of options.
