Default What can I do?

My 12 year old black lab ran away 2 days ago and I'm a wreck. He escaped from a fenced in area. He was being cared for by a friend of mine (at my own house in Montreal) until I could bring him to our new place of residence next month (in Bermuda). He doesn't see well and is on medication for joint pain and brain cognitive dysfunction. I just wish I could find out one way or another if he's OK or not. Then I could either be happy or start my grieving process. Not knowing is the worst. The SPCA, the vet and all the neighbours have been advised and they're looking for him. My friend has been looking for him also, but so far, no luck. He's just the most kissable and gentle dog ever. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. I just wish that whoever finds him brings him to the SPCA so that he can be reunited with us. My friend didn't renew his 2006 city license and bad luck, the city changed their computer system and any dog that doesn't have their 2006 license cannot be traced back to their owners. Is there something else I can do (actually that I can tell my friend to do since I'm so far away)?

So sad! You could tell her to out up posters (I know it is a classic) or look around he neighbors. My grandma was watching our dog and he ran away and guess what!!! My grandmas nieghbors had him!! And it gets even more bizzare! My grandma asked them if she saw him and they said no. LAIRS! Then  Then at MY home I saw a white dog I am like "WHAT! How could he have made his way back here!??" I went on the porch to get his collar and I saw the ziekers (granmas nieghbors we kinda know them they are fat pigs!) they were driving away. OH MY. Just thought I would share that story with yah I really hope you find your dog!

That sounds sad that your dog ran away lmaille  . But usually when dogs run away they will get homesick or be hungry. And they know where they are fed. Like Christian said the poster wouldn't be a bad idea. But since almost your whole neighborhood knows about your missing dog, try putting up posters mostly outside the neighborhood or in other neighborhoods nearby. Your dog will probably try to find it's way home. It is probably not too far away from your house in Montreal. Sure, his eyesight will be a problem if it tries to find its way back, but if its a lab it should find its way back to the house by sniffing around (or at least be close by ). Good luck finding your dog.

Default THANKS TO ALL

:D

As you can see from my previous post, Cashew (my black lab) WAS found alive and well (after 3 days missing). I appreciate all your emails, but be assured he is now living with me (and my 3 other dogs and 3 cats) in Bermuda and is a real happy puppy!!!

Thanks!

L.
