Colleen,

We own two Westies and are planning on raising them. They do not shed, they are wonderful, fun loving dogs. We have never had a dog like our Westies and we have had lots of dogs.

You are so fortunate. One of my dogs sheds so much, that I spend a large percentage of my cleaning time collecting white dog hairs.

I haven't really seen a dog that sheds. My dogs never shedded. I have 2 shih tzus, and I once had a cocker spaniel.

Default All Dogs Shed

As long as there is dead skin cells and/or hair in the tub after a bath, your dog sheds. We shed too. The least shedding dog is the Kerry Blue Terrier. I would not recommend this type of dog to someone who is a new dog owner. They often have a mind of their own.

Also... Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a non-allergic dog. Some tend to affect fewer people with allergy issues, but there is no such thing as NON-allergic. Hypo-allergenic only means that it is not highly allergic.

Just like "all natural"... People think that is a sign that something is safe. There are natural plants that are lethal. Think about hemlock and Shakespeare.

Any questions, I am a very well-informed dog groomer from NY. Feel free...
