Sorry to hear about your bad grooming experiences and although I can't offer any exact recommendation for a particular groomer in your locale I can offer the following advice from my experiences: The number one thing you need to do when choosing a groomer is to actually go in and look around the business. I'm not talking about the quick glance around the shop, you need to physically go into each room your dog will be in and find out what their procedures are. Certain groomers confine the 'dogs waiting' to small metal crates, others offer personal attention from the attendants. The number one thing I look for when finding a new groomer is cleanliness, because cleanliness is only second to godliness, right? It wouldn't hurt to ask if the groomer has a grooming certificate and how much experience they have.
Remember, different breeds require different grooming skills.
