A dogs PH is different from humans so it is much better for his skin and coat to use a dog shampoo, but for a one time quick cleaning it won't cause major problems.

Either use shampoo specially formulated for puppies or baby shampoo. Don't use Dove-they do horrible tests on animals.

It is a dog who rolls in mud and licks his own butt. I think he can handle soap and water.

The only “people shampoo” you should ever use on a dog is gentle baby shampoo. Anything else will dry out their skin and make them very itchy.

Some shampoos are for babies. Use those.

Dawn dishwashing soap is better--good grease cutter for any yuck in the fur...no need for conditioner, since puppy coats are naturally oily to protect the skin under that fur.....besides, Dove is tested on animals already--should be boycotted!
