well, it really depends on what you mean by a good career choice.Do you mean in terms of money? Dog groomers really don't make a lot of money. But, is this job something you want to do? If you love animals and will enjoy it, then I say it is a good choice. Do what makes you happy in life. you don't want to wake up everyday to go to work and be like, "uggh. Great. I don't want to go." Why not get a job that you will enjoy and will not be torture to sit through? That's my opinion, anyway. I'd look in to grooming show dogs. That could be fun. A lot of them have interesting hair do's!

We had our dog groomed the other day. At check out we were waiting in line and curved around in the room so we did not have the line out the door. The cash register was singing and someone said, "we are all in the wrong business'. I think dog grooming is difficult but very lucrative. The key to it is speed and not harming the dog.

Then go for it. It's important to have a career you enjoy. Work for a boarding kennel or pet shop or open your own salon and advertise . . . good luck.

Why don't you get a part time job washing dogs and see how you like it?

I think pet grooming could be a great new career especially if you love animals. I think too many people put too much of an emphasis on money when thinking fo a career but I think you have made a better choice by putting the emphasis on doing something you love to do. Good for you OH,I think you could do just fine financially also
