She may have dry skin or another skin problem. There's no need for an inside dog to be bathed very often. They need to build up some natural oils. Only bathe when absolutely necessary using mild dog shampoo, or if they have one for sensitive skin , get that one !

Examine the dogs skin for dry or flaking skin or reddened areas. This can be caused by allergies to the groomong products used or even the ingrediants in the food they eat. I have a boxer with severe food allergies. Ended up using a food based on fish rather than beef or chicken or lamb. Worked wonders on his itchiness.

Default I am a dog groomer

Could be allergies, could be related to diet, could be dry skin, could be products used for bathing. It is a misunderstood conception that bathing too much is bad for a dog. The research that was done many years ago used dishwashing detergent-like products to wash the dogs. Nowadays, dog products are pH balanced and they are safe to use whenever you wish to wash. I use medicated oatmeal or salicylic acid shampoo. If you live in NY, you can contact me with regard to more advice or a check-up.

It could be a number of things to consider:

1. diet
2. allergies, certain breeds have seasonal allergies
3. bathing products
4. water too hot or warm for skin, drying it out, or bathing too often.
5. possibly not washing/rinsing out shampoo thoroughly can cause itching also.
