My shih tzu gets aggressive when being groomed (he had an inccident at the groomers last year that caused him alot of pain so we cannot take him to a groomer)How can i cut/shave his hair without cutting him or him biting me?Thank you

For every pound of weight, you can give them 1mg of Benadryl. My dog hates going to the groomers, and I'm not equipped to do it myself. He weighs 7 pounds and my vet said I can give him 7mg of benadryl to calm him down. Childrens Benadryl comes in liquid form, and little strips that melt in their mouths. I would try it, it's worked great for us.

hi, i own a dog grooming shop and am a dog groomer. we have had alot of people who's dogs had bad experiences at another shop. try to find a small grooming shop that does quality not quantity. ask if you can bring your dog in to meet the groomer. giving benadryl and treats are not the way to get your dog groomed properly. a caring groomer can bond with your dog and reverse the negative attitude toward the grooming process. good luck with your venture!
