Default What do I do about this place I took my dog to get groomed, who had shaved a

layer of skin off her? (Her third time there, and NEVER AGAIN!) I asked them to shave her before I took her away for a 4 day weekend with us. They ended up shaving a layer of skin off her private part. We didn't notice it right away, because we left right after picking her up. By the time we came back it had healed some what, luckly, I always take a first aid kit with us when traveling with the dogs. The day we came back, I called and took her back where this happened. They didn't say they were sorry or anything. They looked at it, said they don't understand how this happened and why the groomer didn't report it. (Duh? Wonder why not?) They even tried to PULL OFF the scab. Poor thing! They said it looked fine and that I don't have to take her to a vet. They tried to give her some "CAT" meds. (for a dog?) to calm her down. This is not the first time this happened. A few months ago they "nicked" my mom's dog a little, it wasn't as bad. I just want to know who to turn them into or/and what I can I do?

Hire a lawyer, charge them with indecent practices, and turn them over to the local animal protection agency.

heres what you need to do. first contact your lawyer and arange a day to meet and discuss your issue..then once you have his aprovel sue them, sue them good. thats what I would do.your poor dog ,I feel so sorry for it. You should go to the closes pet store and buy that poor dog some stuff. OK.

I agree with Troutslayer find another groomer one that has been recomended by somebody. This could have an effect on her being groomed in the future. Please give her a hug from me ----AGGY

I dont know why you would sue, youll spend more on a lawyer than anything else. i hope you learn that from now on you do a once over inspection when you pick up a dog from a groomer, and this is not so you can be picky and annoy the groomer. Most shops (i worked for one who did this a lot) will not do anything for you if you leave and then call a day later saying something happened to the dog. they will say that it could have happened at home (which honestly it could have happened anywhere) and any lawyer will probably say the same thing (its a technicality) i dont know what kind o0ff shop you went to (petco/smart, privatly owned) i know that if they work for corporation, they could either get fired or get kicked out of grooming. in this case you call the corporate 800 number and file a complaint which will gaurentee the most severe punishment (you will need to find out who did the dog). if its privatly owned call the shop and speak to the owner, not the manager. I would request that the person who did it either be laid off or get extra training. for that to happen to your dog is ridiculous. you cannot do that to a dog and not notice so they just flat out didnt tell you, wehich is worse that the accident to begin with. the person who did your dog was NOT qualified to do it and the owner should know. In the future always find out who is grooming your dog and always go with your instinct about a new place. and like i said before always go over your dog before you leave.
