Not to be a bummer but gas prices are always going up around here...
have to be able to afford the gas, pay yourself and keep the prices competitive. I work out of a little shop, and we will do pick-ups and Deliveries but we charge a little bit to cover the gas and time we spend doing it.

Mobile Grooming is a terrific way to make money. I would recommend for advertising, to use Craig's List. Just post your services and prices and I'm sure you'll gain a client base. Also, print out some business cards and give a few to everyone you work with. Word of mouth is the most powerful advertising source.

It's probably no cheaper to purchase a mobile grooming unit that to start a shop. It may actually be more expensive. Those rigs don't come cheap.

Either business can be lucrative. It's not being mobile or being in a shop that makes your business lucrative. It's being a good business person, being a good groomer, and setting your prices where they should be.

Mobile groomers offer a premium service, and they have to charge a premium price. Shop or mobile, if you don't charge what the service is worth you'll work twice as hard to make less money.

The biggest mistake made by most groomers who open their own business is just that. They're groomers who own a business. If you want to be successful, you have to be a business owner who grooms.

I had a dog that was terrified of the car, we used to wish we could have someone come to our house to do her grooming. So yes, I think it's a great idea
