I live in NY. Is a license or certificate required to work at a pet grooming shop? If so, what is the procedure?

There is no state in the U.S. that requires a vocational license for dog grooming at this time. A few states require a Department of Agriculture license for a grooming shop, but not for groomers. No state requires certification, either.

Most places, pet groomers are not licensed, beyond a standard business license.
