I take mine to the groomer every two to three months. She gets a bath, conditioner, a haircut, a really good brushing out and her nails trimmed.

firstly a really good brushing. bath then dry.
trim the hocks (back of the back legs) right down
trim the feathers on the front legs
trim around the pads of the feet and around them.
trim the skirt.
you can thin out the hair around the back end and shape the inside into a v shape
shape the chest a little
you can trim the tail too
you can thin out any areas that need it too.
if you have any matts, you can either get them out using a matt breaker or a slicker brush. and for taking out undercoat you could either use an undercoat rake or a coat king.
clean the ears and trim the nails

Try using a Zoom Groom brush to loosen the hair (use a back and forth scrubbing motion), then use a Furminator. Repeat often.
