Default Coat question

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone here knows how to get a very stubborn wave/kink out of samoyed coat? Also any tips on how to fluff up a coat for showing??

Thanks!

aww you have a marshmallow dog! lol

To "fluffy" him use a hair dryer while using a large pin brush.

Question

Are you referring to a knot more or less or something like a cowlick?

lol Breakfastattiffanys  Yes he's a marshmallow alright! He's between coats at the moment so not as poofy as I'd like him for the show ring.
Thanks for the tip

Tod - it's a bit strange what he has. It's a wave (a slight curl even) over his back legs (both of them .. identical on both sides). It would be as stubborn as a cowlick though.

I'm hoping his adult coat when it comes down a bit more will hide it or it will disappear but i'd like to minimise the look of it for now!

Thanks

Have you tried getting your dog wet in the tub or hose then brushing it out?

Yep - i've tried that and it hasn't helped.
I have tried even blasting it section by section and it does get slightly better doing that but it's still there!

Sammies are beautiful.

Just a suggestion. But have you talked to your breeder about this? Since they show, they are able to help you out.

maybe try using some thinning shears and a high powered blow dryer used for professional grooming? try to thin and strip out the worst part of the cow lick...

I forgot to get back to this! Sorry!

He's only 13 months old. Though I think he must have been between coats as it is looking much better now!
I started using a little bit of mousse as well and it seems to be doing the trick

Thanks for all the help!
