Default Any recommendations for rough/cracked pads?

Hi Everyone,

Our new little guy, about 1 yr old Eng. Springer (black/white) has rough & cracked pads. Is there something that is good to use on them like when I have to use hand lotion on rough, cracked hand skin?

Thanks for the help. Don't want to use the wrong stuff on the little feller!!

What Are the Treatments for Sore, Cracked Dog Paws? | eHow.com

If you put --dogs cracked paws--in your browser, you will find more sites on this.
Also putting --dogs cracked pads-- will give you some more sites. There are many under both! I only read the site above but was thinking another remedy would be Crisco/shortening----Which you prob. will find mentioned in one of the sites you check out. I leave it to you to do the searching.

Default Pad help

Thanks for the direction. I'll check into that today. BTW, just shot some photo's of the "little dickens" today. He's all legs right now and runs/jumps like a Gazelle. His back legs look like an Olympic Speed ice skater

Guess I have to get up to 50 posts on the site to provide a link or image. Won't let me do it. Oh well.

Hi there, Tea tree cream is very good as its a moisturiser / antiseptic ointment all in one. I,ve always used it on my own dog when he,s had any skin ot feet complaints and it workds very well. You can get it in pets shops and also in health shops.

Read the forum rules section for directions on how to post a pic. You do not need to have 50 posts.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"
