I was just wandering because black attracts the sun, if your dog has a black coat will it attract the sun more than a dog with a white coat?

And if so are dogs with dark coats likely to dehydrate more quikly?

I don't know if they will dehydrate quicker than a white dog, but I know my husky's back (where he has dark fur) always feels hotter than the boxer's back (he's typical boxer brown). Just to be sure they don't dehydrate though, I water them twice a day, once in the morning before it gets hot and then mid-afternoon around 3 when my daughter is done with school.

Next year, I plan on getting them a plastic kiddie pool to help keep them cool.

Ok thanks for that I just wanted to make sure that I didnt need to make sure to give her more than water than I need.

My dog gets fresh water twice a day also. So thats all good then. Thanks

The dark fur seems to hold more heat. Just keep your doggie hydrated!
