I wrap my dogs pills up in a piece of lunchmeat or cheese and give it to them that way. That has been the only way that they will take them for me.

I use peanut butter, plain yogurt, or canned cat food. They gulp it down so fast they don't even realize the pill is in there.

I can't get our dogs to take pills; my husband has to do it. He just holds their mouth open and puts the pill way down in their throat, then rubs their throat so they will swallow it. I have a hard time because I can't hold their mouths open; too slippery.

Each of our dogs have been different and we have used most of the ways already mentioned. Wrapping in meat tends to be a favourite either fresh or proccessed ham.
Failing that I hold the mouth open and pop the wormer to the back of the throat close the mouth and rub the neck.

That's exactly what I do. It hasn't failed me yet.

I think that peanut butter is the best food to hide a pill in. The dog isn't able to pick the pill out due to the thickness. It's always worked great on my dogs.
