are dogs aloud to live on an exclusive veggie diet?
is this healthy for them?

i know for cats its an absolute no to eat purely vegetables and other substitutes.

wondering if its the same for dogs.

No it is not healthy for a dog to eat a 100% vegetarian diet. They are carnivores and even though they can tolerate vegetables there is no need whatsoever to have them in their diet.
A diet made up of complete vegetable matter would not be in the best interests for your dog.

I stand corrected, i found a site with a lab living up to a good age on a vegan diet.
Lucky for that lab, i still would not recommend it though for the reasons as above.
