I have a one week old litter of American Bulldogs, all the puppies came out great, with no complications what-so-ever. However, I came home today and found one of the puppies not acting normal, it is panting a lot, and whining any time you hold it. Can't get it to eat off the mother, is there something to worry about, or is this just normal? When I got home I did find the puppy wrapped up in the blanket, if that changes things at all I have no idea. I don't know if I should take this puppy into the vet as soon as possible or not. Anyone's prompt response is much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi. I'm not sure if you still need help with your pup or not but... I would try taking it's temp since you said it was wrapped up in a blanket and panting. It may be over heated and being close to mom only keeps them warm. See if you can get it to drink some water. Depending on the temp and what other symptoms it has I'd at least give the vet a call. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Best of luck with the pup!!
