Question Raw beef bones and dogs

Hi all,

Can someone out there tell me just how often a dog should be allowed to have a raw beef bone? We were told not to cook the bone before giving it to our dog because of the bone splintering. When he has gotten all the marrow out and has the bone pretty well cleaned, we allow him to continue to chew on it. Is this okay? We are general worried about cracking and breaking of his teeth. What, if any, is too much and too often for bone chewing??

Thanks in advance!!

I don't about Raw Beef Bones but I know that you aren't suppose to give your dogs poultry bones because of the splintering. Ham Bones are okay.

I feed my dogs raw and they have all kinds of bones. They always have huge knuckle bones to keep them busy. But their meal consists of chicken backs, legs, necks etc. I sometimes give them a whole raw chicken. Raw chicken bones are excellent. it's the cooking of bones that make them dangerous.
