Ok, I am looking for information on Red Barn dog food. We have a dog at my office that eats their Beef formula. He continually has the loosest stools I've ever seen. On a good day they are soft. On a bad day they are waterfalls and on normal days they are somewhere in between.
He gets some treats (not a lot) and virtually no human food.
He is a healthy 3 yr old English Lab (88lbs) We know the problem is not parasite or infection related.
He is also prone to ear infections and hot spots.
I have been trying to make a case to the owner that the dog should be on dry kibble or at least on the chicken or lamb formula of Red Barn if his owner insists on continuing to feed the dog this stuff.
I have been looking for info on Red Barn (good or bad) but haven't been able to find much. So I'm looking for people who have had personal experiences in an attempt to determine if it is an allergy (my guess would be to the beef) or a problem with the food. (not enough fiber/too many preservatives, etc.)
Any help would be very much appreciated.
P.S. the dog also farts like mad!! Very bad in the middle of a meeting.
