If you own a cat, have a non-pregnant person change the litter box every day. If there is no one else to change the litter box, wear gloves and wash hands with soap and running water after changing the litter.
Risk may be reduced if the litter box is changed every day.
Keep cats indoors.
Avoid adopting or handling stray cats.
Feed cats only canned or dried commercial cat food, never undercooked or raw meat.
Do not bring a new cat into your house that might have been an outdoor cat or might have been fed raw meat.

You Should Not Expose Yourself to Pesticides
Pesticides (including insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and so on) can have a variety of effects on your unborn baby depending on the type of chemical, the length and intensity of exposure and the age of the fetus. In general it is best to avoid exposure to all pesticides. The problem is that pesticide use is extremely widespread in the U.S. You can be exposed to pesticides in your home (ant and roach bait traps, no-pest strips, houshold pest control products and services, flea collars on dogs and cats...), in your yard (lawn care services, do-it-yourself herbicides and insecticides on the lawn or garden), in your neighborhood (especially in rural areas, but also from suburban neighbors spraying their yards), from various food sources... The most you can do is attempt to avoid these dangers as best you can. See this site, this page and this page.
Things You Should and Should Not Do During Pregnancy
i cannot find anything about chickens, except for the risk of Bird Flu.

I don't know about dogs or chickens but I know that cat.......poo is VERY harmful. it can cause bad birth defects. Never change a cat box if you are pregnant.

cats can cause you to get toxoplasmosis, which can be very bad for the unborn, it can cause severe deformality. you should never handle litter, or cat puke and any fluids. specially if you have an outside cat. you can still pet it but wash your hands after you do.

The dogs, cats and birds themselves are not harmful but it is advisable to stay away from their "messes".1. Dog poop can harbor bacteria and worms.2. Bird poop can harbor samonella. 3. Cat poop can harbor a bacteria that is esp. bad for women who are expecting. If I were pregnant I would get someone else to clean up after the pets till after the baby was born. If you do have to clean up after them use gloves and a mask and wash throughly with hot soapy water after contact with feces. Just be extra careful you should invest in a good pooper scooper so that you lessen your chance of contact with the feces and have someone else clean the coop or cage intirely.A woman's work is never done, I guess!
